The Ballad of Blue, Granite and Green

Benjamin, along side acclaimed traditional fiddler, Paul Anderson, won VisitAberdeenshire’s ‘Sound of the North East’ competition. The aim was to create a piece of music that encapsulated the North East of Scotland, highlighting it’s history, innovation and mystery. The 10 minute orchestral work featuring Paul playing the fiddle will be used over the next few years to bring tourism to Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire. Connect

Connect (2019) starring Kevin Guthrie is Marilyn Edmond’s directorial debut. The films follows Brian (Guthrie), a young man dealing with depression and suicidal thoughts finds solace in a potential love. Benjamin was lucky enough not only to score the film but to write and perform songs that feature within the film. EDIT - Benjamin completely does not condone Guthrie’s actions since the film’s release - however he is still proud to have worked on a film, with a lot of amazing talent, that highlights such an important issue within the UK.
